I don’t know the stats, but it feels like more than half of all the sleep ASMR video makers on YouTube identify as female. Female voices have long been associated with being comforting, bewitching, being able to control and bend wills. The old wives’ tales of sirens, which are like mermaids, dashing ships and destroying them and the sailors on board is an example of this.

Thankfully, there’s nothing as mythical and scary happening here. We have many women who are thankfully sharing the gift of their voice with the world, using it to help people struggling to sleep find some respite. Here’s a few more good videos below.
